SEU Ranked Highly for Social Mobility Among Regional UniversitiesMorristown, N.J., (September 18, 2023) – Saint Elizabeth University (SEU) has been ranked second among all higher education institutions in New Jersey -- private and public – on U.S. News & World Report’s 2024 “Top Performers on Social Mobility Regional Universities-North”.

This is the fourth year in a row the University has ranked highly on the list that includes all public and private institutions in the region. In 2022, SEU was ranked 17th out of 174 and this year moves up six spots to 11th out of 166 in the entire North social mobility category.

The social mobility ranking measures the extent schools enrolled and graduated students who receive federal Pell grants, typically coming from households whose family income is less than $50,000 annually. The ranking measures a college or university's ability to move students up the ladder in terms of economic opportunity and within or between social strata.

“Social mobility is critical to the success of our students and their families, as well as the State of New Jersey and the country. Ranking second in the state and 11th in the region is a testament to our firm commitment to our mission to provide a high-quality education to all students regardless of age, backgrounds and cultures,” said Gary B. Crosby, Ph.D., president of SEU. “It also underscores the impact our student success initiative has on the entire campus community.”
