Inclement Weather Plan

The University is committed to ensuring that all graduating students and their guests may participate fully and safely in the 2025 Commencement ceremony.

Given the potential for lightning during the week ahead, the University has adapted the previous rain plan and has added a Commencement Lightning Plan (described below) should the need arise. In either case, Commencement will take place on Thursday, May 15th.

Commencement Lightning Plan

If lightning storms are predicted, a message will be sent to students, faculty and staff via the LiveSafe app before 7AM on Thursday May 15th, the day of Commencement. (Students should ensure that they have LiveSafe installed on their phones and that any notifications sent through LiveSafe can be communicated to their guests.)
LiveSafe Information

The Commencement will take place as scheduled at 10AM in Dolan Hall, in the Annunciation Center. The Annunciation Center is where graduates should proceed to check in and line up by 8:30am on that day, and guests should go there to check in, as well. Faculty attending Commencement should also check in at the Annunciation Center.

Each graduating student will be issued two wristbands, which will serve as tickets for the seating of two guests in Dolan Hall.

Additional ticketed guests may watch the Commencement livestream in the Student Success Center and in Rainis Auditorium.

In the event of rain (without lightning), Commencement will take place as scheduled on the Front Lawn of the Sisters of Charity Motherhouse. Ponchos will be available and small (travel-sized umbrellas) will be allowed.
